This week Morrissey Goodale tracked two domestic deals and six international deals. This most recent activity brings the total year-to-date deal count in the United States to 52, down 18% from the 64 domestic This week we tracked three domestic deals and two international deals. This most recent activity brings the total year-to-date deal count in the United States to 55, down 15% from the 65 domestic deals tracked through the same period in 2011. Beyond the U.S., the total global deal count is now 106, down 21% from the 134 global deals tracked through the same period last year.

5/7/2012 Leading engineering and architecture firm HDR (Omaha, NE) acquired Stetson Engineering (Gillette, WY), a multi-discipline engineering firm specializing in the provision of design, engineering and construction services related to water, sewer, storm sewer, hydrology and transportation. Link to details 5/4/2012 Architecture, engineering and interior design firm O'Connell Robertson (Austin, TX) acquired Mitchell Design Consultancy (MDC) (San Antonio, TX), a practice focused on retail design, branded environments and commercial buildings. Link to details 4/5/2012 Global specialist in energy management Schneider Electric (Paris, France) acquired energy management and services consultancy M&C Energy Group (Dunfermline, United Kingdom). Link to details. We also note that earlier this year M&C Energy Group acquired national energy consulting company Coleman Hines (Phoenix, AZ). Link to details 5/10/2012 Global renewable energy and risk management experts DNV (Oslo, Norway) acquired leading sustainability consultancy Two Tomorrows Group (Bath, United Kingdom). Link to details 4/11/2012 In an interesting note (though not considered a deal for the purposes of this update), global architecture and engineering design firm AECOM Technology Corporation (Los Angeles, CA) announced a partnership with architecture and design firm Rockwell Group (New York, NY) to serve the expanding leisure, hospitality and entertainment market in Asia. Link to details 5/10/2012 In an interesting note (though not considered a deal for the purposes of this update), as part of a strategic partnership, global renewable energy and risk management experts DNV (Oslo, Norway) acquired the right to purchase 22.6% of the shares of StormGeo Group (Bergen, Norway), a meteorology and risk assessment firm with a core focus on the fields of oil exploration, renewable energy, shipping, media and aviation. Link to details 5/8/2012 In an interesting note (though not considered a deal for the purposes of this update), privately owned building and civil engineering firm UBC Group (Inverness, Scotland) entered administration and will look to sell parts of the business and novate its contracts. UBC Group (formerly known as Uist Builders and doing business as Wyvis Building Services, Wyvis Roofing and Mardon Project Services) most recently produced over $40M in revenue and supported approximately 300 staff positions from various contracts throughout Scotland that included the construction of affordable housing, renewable energy and marine engineering projects.
