Weekly merger, acquisition, deal update: August 31

This week Morrissey Goodale tracked two domestic deals and two international transactions. This brings the total year-to-date deal count in the United States to 123, up 14% over the 108 domestic deals tracked through the same period in 2011. Domestic M&A has really picked up over the summer and if this pace keeps up, 2012 could be a record year for deal activity. Including the U.S., the total global deal count is now 221, on pace with the 220 global deals tracked through the same period last year.
