EMCOR Group Inc., Norwalk, Conn., announced that it is one of 2008’s best outsourcing providers voted on by the International Assn. of Outsourcing Professionals. In addition, EMCOR Government Services formed CFS-Millington, a joint venture with Capitol Technology Services Inc., Washington, D.C. The venture will perform a 10-year, $89 million facility operations, and maintenance service contract for the U.S. Navy Support Activity Mid-South facility in Millington, Tenn. The EMCOR Government Services unit also received a consolidated facilities management contract for the FDIC headquarters in Washington, D.C, and Arlington, Va. The 3-year, $27 million agreement will support the FDIC’s mission-critical and engineering systems, as well as provide HVAC services, general maintenance and repair, janitorial services, pest control services, landscaping, interior plant maintenance, BAS, trash removal, and minor construction. EMCOR Services New England Mechanical, Vernon, Conn., was named one of the best places to work in Connecticut. The program recognizes the state’s top employers and is sponsored by the Hartford Business Journal, Connecticut Better Business Bureau, and Best Companies Group. Smith Seckman Reid (SSR) Inc., Houston, promoted Carl Crow, Jim Edwards, David Heideman, Jeremy Jones, and Chris Miller to the positions of vice president. Crow is responsible for the management and direction of the education, science, and technology design team in Houston. Edwards and Heideman are responsible for the overall management of multi-discipline design team of project managers, engineers, and engineering technicians in the Denver office. Jones managed the engineering team in the Houston office, and Miller will manage the low-voltage design team for SSR’s southwestern division.BSA LifeStructures, Indianapolis, hired Scott Miller, AIA, FACHA, as a senior healthcare planner. Miller has more than 25 years of healthcare architecture experience, including 10 years as an architectural firm principal. Miller has been involved in the medical planning, programming, master planning, and design of healthcare environments.
Sebesta Blomberg, Chicago, promoted Brian Rener, PE, LEED AP, to president of the central region. Rener has more than 20 years of engineering experience in the management design and construction of government, industrial, and advanced technology facilities.
Syska Hennessy Group, New York City, promoted Eronim Brandusa, Carlos Petty, and Gerry Brown to vice presidents. Brandusa has 30 years of experience in the planning and designing of healthcare facilities. Petty has more than 30 years of experience in building automation systems. Brown has 14 years of experience as a manager in the company’s internal accounting department. In addition, Syska Hennessy received the Diamond Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York as part of the organization’s 2008 Engineering Excellence Awards competition. The firm received the ward for its design work on the Wild Center, which is the National History Museum of the Adirondacks in Tupper Lake, N.Y.KlingStubbins, Raleigh, N.C., announced that H. Joseph Wynn, AIA, LEED AP, joined the firm’s Raleigh office as managing director. Wynn has more than 20 years of experience with architectural designs of corporate and commercial facilities; federal, state, and municipal projects; and healthcare facilities.
Sys-tek, Blue Springs, Mo., announced the addition of Bob Clark, PE, to firm as director of mechanical engineering. Clark has more than 20 years of experience as a mechanical engineer and his previous work experience includes work on process systems, contract administration, QA systems, mechanical systems, and mechanical and controls design.
Tracey Guzman joined Peter Basso Assocs. Troy, Mich., in the firm’s corporate/governmental group as a lighting designer. Guzman has more than 17 years of engineering experience and more than 12 years of lighting design experience for healthcare facilities.
