- California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently issued an executive order committing his state to a Green Building Action Plan based on the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED rating system. The order specifically calls for action to reduce electricity usage by constructing and operating highly energy-efficient buildings.
- The National Electrical Contractors Assn. has released its latest National Electrical Installation Standards, NECA 90–2004, Recommended Practice for Commissioning Building Electrical Systems (ANSI). The new standard costs $15 for NECA members.
- Red Herring, an online media source for innovation, technology, financing and entrepreneurial activity, has selected Power Measurement, Victoria, British Columbia, as a Top 100 Innovator for its line of intelligent energy meters and web-enabled software for utilities and large energy consumers.
