The Electrical Generating Systems Assn. (EGSA) is a global organization with member companies involved in the generation, transmission, storage, and control of electrical power not directly supplied by public utilities. It is our pleasure to work with Consulting-Specifying Engineer once again to bring you this special supplement focusing on On-Site Power.
Our industry continues to grow in complexity, and our association is committed to continuing to provide quality educational programs to our members, their employees, and the industry at large. These efforts include our Generator Technician Certification Program—the industry's first Technician Certification Program—and our highly successful and popular On-Site Power Schools.
Our Basic Power School offers a general, but still technical, overview of On-Site Power Generation equipment. The Advanced Power School offers more highly technical and in-depth coverage of the equipment. Our Generator Technician Certification Program uses rigorous testing to identify technicians with the requisite knowledge and skill to troubleshoot, service, and maintain today's complex—and expensive—On-Site Power Systems. After all, end-users don't want just anybody to install and maintain their equipment. They want to be confident that all work has been performed by qualified personnel. Likewise, suppliers want assurance that routine maintenance and repairs are being performed by skilled technicians to guard against unnecessary returns or warranty repairs.
It has been said that knowledge is power. The insights you'll gain from the pages of this supplemental issue of On-Peak Performance will certainly energize you and leave you armed with the latest information on how On-Site Power is continuing to evolve and thrive.
Each of these articles has been prepared by an EGSA-member firm, all of whom are experts, squarely positioned on the cutting edge of this rapidly growing field. We hope you find the information presented here to be practical, informative, and applicable. If you would like to learn more about EGSA and On-Site Power, or you would like complete information on EGSA's On-Site Power Schools, please visit our website at www.egsa.org or call us at 561-750-5575.
