Companies team to provide fire protection to power management company

IFP-2000 fire alarm control panel meets building’s requirements for reliable fire protection solution.

Silent Knight, part of Honeywell’s Life Safety Group, Maple Grove, Minn., and a provider of industry-wide compatible fire alarm solutions for small to mid-size institutions and commercial sites, has joined with UHL Co. to meet the fire protection needs of Eaton’s Hydraulics Business, a global power management company with a campus located in Eden Prairie, Minn. Eaton contacted UHL to provide a reliable, state-of-the-art solution. UHL Co. specified the new IFP-2000 scalable intelligent analog-addressable fire alarm control panel from Silent Knight.

In order to decide on the best system to meet Eaton’s needs, Silent Knight invited their neighbors at UHL and Eaton to their manufacturing facility to see first-hand the best solutions available for the project. After viewing demonstrations and speaking with Silent Knight employees who designed and built the panels, Eaton decided on the new IFP-2000. The high-quality, cost-effective panel from Silent Knight would allow Eaton to achieve their goal of complete facility automation.

UHL has begun the replacement of the existing fire alarm system with the installation of Silent Knight’s IFP-2000 panels in two of the buildings on Eaton’s Eden Prairie campus. Equipped with addressable architecture such as individual point identification, drift compensation and maintenance alert, the IFP-2000 is a welcome addition to the Eaton campus.

The IFP-2000 is 9th Edition UL listed and FM approved. The system has the interconnection capability for up to eight panels, and the networked system can either be configured to emulate one large virtual system or segmented into separate sites for multiple building applications.
