M/E insider: recent new hires and promotions

KJWW Engineering Consultants, Naperville, Ill., announced that Matt Mears, PE, passed the LEED AP exam. Mears joined KJWW in 2001 as a mechanical engineer. Syska Hennessy Group, New York, appointed Gary Brennen, PE, and Cyrus Izzo, PE, co-chief executive officers. They also will assume the titles of co-chief operating officers. Brennen began his career with Syska Hennessy Group in 1982 and most recently served as executive vice president and managing director of the firm’s western region. Izzo has more than 20 years of experience with all aspects of major systems projects. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the 7 X 24 Exchange and CoreNet Global. EMCOR Group, Norwalk, Conn., acquired Performance Mechanical Inc., a privately held industrial mechanical construction and maintenance company headquartered in Pittsburg, Calif. Scott Morgan, CISSP, joined Spectrum Engineers, Salt Lake City, as principal information technology designer. Raymond Soto, LC, joined Cannon Design, Buffalo, N.Y., as a lighting design specialist. Soto has more than 20 years of experience as an electrical designer. Inspec, Minneapolis, hired Gary Larson, AIA, CID, as a roof design department manager. Interface Engineering, Portland, Ore., promoted several staff members. Becoming principals and partners are: Steve Dacus, PE, senior mechanical engineer specializing in energy design, commissioning, and sustainable strategies; Doug Smith, PE, LEED AP, senior mechanical engineer leading the Washington mechanical design team from the Kirkland office; and Dave Williams, PE, LEED AP, senior mechanical engineer and a team leader with the health care design group. Promoted to associate are: Steve Kelly, RCDD, senior technology designer; Duane Monroe, PE, LEED AP, senior mechanical engineer; Kenton Aikens, PE, senior engineer in the fire/life safety design group; Mark Jackson, senior electrical designer; Scott Holum, CPD, a senior mechanical designer in the plumbing design group; Brian Butler, PE, LEED AP, senior mechanical engineer; Andrew Lasse, PE, senior mechanical engineer; Dennis Obritschkewitsch, senior electrical designer; Kevin Duell, PE, LEED AP, a senior mechanical engineer; Melissa Crosman, CPSM, leads Interface’s marketing team; Kathleen Roach, CET, CFPS, senior designer; Becky Ellsworth, PE, senior electrical engineer; Ken Spencer, PE, LEED AP, senior electrical engineer; and Chris Larson, LEED AP, senior electrical designer.
