National engineering, consulting and construction management firm to the energy, environmental and infrastructure markets TRC Companies (Lowell, MA) acquired the assets of GE's Air Emissions Testing business (Atlanta, GA).  As part of the transaction, TRC also entered into a three-year master service agreement with GE Power & Water. GE's Air Emissions Testing business features approximately 55 employees and $12 million in annual revenue. Link to details This is the second deal that TRC has announced in as many weeks. Last week, the firm announced the acquisition of energy efficiency firm Heschong Mahone Group (Sacramento, CA). Link to details

Global engineering, architecture and science consulting firmKleinfelder (San Diego, CA) acquired professional land surveying services firm to the midstream oil and gas industry A-1 Surveying (Laceyville, PA). Kleinfelder and A-1 Surveying have worked together on engagements since 2009, and in particular A-1 has proven to be a valuable resource to Kleinfelder and its clients working in the Marcellus and Utica shale regions. Link to details

Architecture, engineering and planning firm DLZ Corporation(Columbus, OH) acquired Regina Webster & Associates (RWA) (Chicago, IL), a 30-person civil engineering firm specializing in transportation and traffic engineering including traffic impact studies, parking and signing studies, transportation planning, traffic data collection, program management and roadway plans. Link to details

Construction services firm Williams Design/Build (St. Charles, IL) and its affiliate Williams Construction Management (St. Charles, IL) acquired full-service architectural design firm Vasilion Architects (Batavia, IL). Moving forward, the firms will serve as a single source for architecture, design/build and construction management under the new name Prairie Forge Group. Link to details

Multi-discipline civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm Forsgren Associates (Salt Lake City, UT) acquired the Logan, Utah office of multi-discipline engineering firm Sargent Engineers (Olympia, WA). Additional details not available at this time.

In an interesting note (though not considered a deal for the purposes of this update), leading general contractor and construction management company DPR Construction (Redwood City, CA) agreed to acquire fellow leading general contractor and construction manager Hardin Construction (Atlanta, GA). The two companies intend to combine operations in the Southeast and Texas markets, where both have a strong local presence. The transaction will be finalized in March. Link to details
