Erin Lowery, PE, LEED AP BD+C, 34
Senior Associate, Facilities Engineering Group, Primera, Chicago
Purdue University, BS Mechanical Engineering
Lowery’s career began as an intern at Primera during college and has continued successfully with the firm for 10 years thus far. With her husband, she has taken breaks from work to travel and to care for their first child, who was born this spring. She has an inquisitive nature with impeccable organization and follow-through skills that have earned respect within and beyond the firm. One of her most exciting projects includes renovations of an Evanston, Ill., Northwestern University building that was built in 1915. Lowery is also proud of a project with Chicago police stations that includes geothermal and rainwater harvesting systems. She is one of only a handful of engineers that was able to develop the skill sets required of a project manager and to successfully make the transition. In this role, she is the face of the company from a project’s inception to completion, and she has managed many large and complex projects totaling more than $200 million in construction value. With the ACE Mentor Program, she has helped more than 200 students learn about the engineering industry in the past 6 years. Lowery is an active member in the Illinois chapters of ASHRAE and the U.S. Green Building Council. Outside of engineering, Lowery enjoys playing volleyball, volunteering, and socializing. She and her husband like to travel and combine their knowledge and love of wine with the foods around the world.
