With more than 15 years of experience as a practiced electrical engineer in systems design, Grieves is a leader committed to focusing and promoting sustainability, and a respected mentor. At WSP Flack + Kurtz, Grieves is responsible for systems selection and design, and the coordination between the project managers and the architects, contractors, and other members of the design team. Grieves has developed a special talent for fostering discussion and collaboration between teams and easing stressful moments with a joke or smile. She pushes her teams to maintain deadlines and offer excellent client service while providing innovative solutions to challenges that push creative boundaries with efficient, effective, attractive designs. She has worked on many U.S. Green Building Council LEED projects, such as the Royal Mirage Hotel and Emirates Hills Residential Complex in Dubai, UAE, which is her favorite place to visit. Grieves worked in Dubai for 6 months, enjoying the awe-inspiring construction and scuba diving in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Originally from the United Kingdom, Grieves relishes opportunities to travel, and she frequently visits family in Europe. When possible, she celebrates her 26 years of recreational tennis experience by playing at the ASHRAE charity tennis tournament. She teaches at the Academy of Arts, visits classes as a guest speaker, and builds sandcastles with elementary students to benefit LEAP.
