Motor current tool

-- Consulting-Specifying Engineer, 1/1/2008

The C396 Electronic Overload from Eaton directly measures motor current and models thermal conditions in the motor. The system identifies excessive current because it reacts to motor stress conditions with speed and reliability. The C396 is available as a stand-alone device with a range of 0.1 to 150 amps, which may be increased to 1,500 amps with an external current transformer kit. The wide range allows 50% fewer catalog numbers than a traditional bi-metallic alternative, while covering the same current range.
