Nominate a young, outstanding engineer To help recognize young engineers and to improve engineering recruitment in your company or organization, we encourage you to nominate a talented young engineer. Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine is looking for 40 of the most innovative engineers under the age of 40. To qualify, nominees must be under 40 years of age (as of May 1, 2009) and be nominated by a supervisor, academic advisor, peer, mentor, public relations professional, project leader, or other person directly involved in their career progress.

It’s that time once again for Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s Product of the Year contest. The Fifth Annual 2009 Product of the Year competition remains the premier award for new products in the HVAC, fire, electrical, and plumbing engineering markets. An updated entry process has moved the entire product submittal process online. Contest rules, eligibility requirements, and sample entries from 2008’s contest can all be found at www.csemag.com/poy . An expanded list of entry categories includes several new categories—Networked building automation, energy management systems, renewable energy, green power, equipment-level sensors/controls, and standby/on-site power. The entry deadline is Feb. 20, at 5 p.m. and it’s never too early to submit your product in CSE’s Product of the Year Contest.
