Bosch, Stuttgart, Germany, plans to acquire all shares of Extreme CCTV, Burnaby, Canada. With this acquisition, Bosch will boost its Security Systems division and extend to video surveillance. Bosch is offering Extreme CCTV stockholder 5.00 Canadian dollars per share in cash. The expected transaction volume is about 93 million Canadian dollars and is subject to approval with an expected close in February 2008.
Gamewell-FCI, Northford, Conn., hired three regional managers. Alex Nino, Latin America regional manager, will closely work with engineers and distributors in Central and South America, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean. Alex Salter will oversee the Western territory of Arizona, Hawaii, and the southern areas of California and Nevada. Robert Veenstra is regional manager supporting the Mid-Atlantic region of Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware and upstate New York.
Danfoss A/S, the parent company of Danfoss, Baltimore, announced several top-level managerial changes following the retirement of Hans Kirk. Effective Jan. 1, Kim Fausing will become executive vice president and chief operations officer, and join the Danfoss Executive Committee. He will assume responsibility for the company’s three product divisions: Danfoss Refrigeration & Air Condition, Danfoss Heating, and Danfoss Motion Controls. Kjeld Staerk will become president of Danfoss Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. Ole M. Daugbjerg will become chief reputation officer. Roland Fritsch will become senior vice president of the Danfoss Services Division.
Steamist, Rutherford, N.J., appointed Tom Walker to director of operations. Walker joined the company in June.
TAC, Dallas, named Jeff Drees president of TAC in the Americas region and executive vice president of TAC AB. Drees will be responsible for strategic planning and management for the performance and growth of the company in North, Central, and South America. Drees joined the company in 2001.
Hubbell, Orange, Conn., promoted Bob Murphy to executive vice president, marketing & sales. Murphy previously served the company as senior group vice president of Hubbell Wiring System. Murphy has worked for Hubbell for 32 years. Replacing Murphy is Bill Tolley at the position of group vice president, Hubbell Wiring Systems.
Cooper Lighting, Peachtree City, Ga., has been named an Industry Partner of the Clinton Climate Initiative.
WaterFurnace International, Fort Wayne, Ind., promoted two individuals: Carl Huber has been promoted to vice president of the new WaterFurnace corporate quality program. Huber has served the company for 20 years. Bob Brown has been promoted to vice president of engineering and research. He has more than 26 years of industry experience.
Power Distribution Inc. (PDI), Richmond, Va., announced that Keith Schmid has replaced Rich Combs as CEO. Combs will serve as PDI executive chairman.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded Sloan Valve, Franklin Park, Ill., with the Green Power Leadership Award for its Green Power Purchase. Sloan offsets 100% of the energy used in its Franklin Park facility with renewable energy.
Emerson Climate Technologies, St. Louis, announced that its Copeland CR compressors have reached 50 million installations. In other news, the company appointed Ram Krishnan to president of Emerson Climate Technologies, Refrigeration. Krishnan most recently served Emerson Process Management in the position of president of the company’s Liquid Analytical Division.
TCP, Aurora, Ohio, is a charter member of the newly formed U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Climate Protection Council.
VYCON, Orange County, Calif., announced an agreement with Chloride Group PLC for the distribution and marketing of VYCON’s VDC flywheel for use in Chloride UPS Systems. Chloride Group is headquartered in London.
GE Energy opened a 7,000 sq. meter facility in Shanghai. The facility will produce air filtration products and waterproof breathable membranes.
The National Ground Water Assn. awarded Grundfos Pumps, Orlando, Fla., with the Equipment Design Award for the company’s SmartFlo SQ and SQE pump systems.
Elkay Manufacturing Co., Oak Brook, Ill, announced that Ronald C. Katz retired from his positions as chairman and CEO. He has assumed the position of executive chairman of the board of directors. Katz has served as CEO since 1985 and was named chairman in 1986. Jack Edl also retired from his positions as president and chief operating officer. He has continued to serve on the board of directors and assumed the role of vice chairman. He joined Elkay in 1982. Timothy J. Jahnke has joined the company as president and CEO. He comes to Elkay as group president of Home and Family Products of Newell Rubbermaid. In other news, Elkay Plumbing Products Division will transform its Broadview, Ill., manufacturing facility into the Elkay Technology Center. This facility will produce high-end sinks.
