WSP Flack + Kurtz names managing director: Houston
David Sinz, an engineer with past experience in the Middle East, takes over the Houston office for WSP Flack + Kurtz.
David Sinz, PE, LEED AP, has assumed the role of managing director of WSP Flack + Kurtz’s Houston office, following the retirement of George Dabney, announces David Cooper, PE, LEED AP BD+C, president and chief executive officer of WSP Flack + Kurtz.
Mr. Sinz joined the Houston office as a vice president in 2010. Previously, he served as a principal and engineering manager at AE-7 Associates, a design and planning firm with a presence in the U.S. and the Middle East. He also is a former principal and MEP engineering manager at Burt Hill Architecture’s office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Mr. Sinz’s experience includes the design and management of many noteworthy projects at major venues, including the World Trade Center; Newark Airport; JFK Airport; the Porter Neuroscience Center at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD; the California Nanosystems Institute at the University of California Los Angeles; the New Student Union at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, and Harvard Medical School in Dubai Center, Dubai, UAE.
Mr. Sinz served as president-elect and the technical chair of the Dubai Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) in 2009 and 2008, respectively.

Mr. Sinz holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in marine engineering systems from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.
