Lindsay Bose, PE, 32

Senior Associate, Primera Engineers Ltd., Chicago

Kansas State University, BS Architectural Engineering, MS Architectural Engineering

Bose’s love for math and architecture started at a young age when she was building Barbie dream houses and huge cities with Legos. As a senior associate and project manager at Primera Engineers, Bose has worked on medium- and low-voltage distribution energy systems, telecommunication systems, and fire alarm systems. In 2006, she moved to New York City to act as senior project engineer for the Jacob Javits Convention Center. During that time, she was also responsible for managing Primera’s New York office. The LEED Silver project included a 1.3-million-sq-ft renovation with a new 60 mVA high-tension 13.2 kV electrical service and MV distribution throughout the facility. Bose served as an electrical engineer for the U-505 Submarine Exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. This project, which involved moving an entire German submarine inside the museum, was awarded the 2005 Project of the Year award by American Public Works Assn. Bose is praised by her clients for her project management skills. During her work for the City Colleges of Chicago, she went from handling a single project at one project site to handling multiple projects at various city college sites. Bose also spends time volunteering for the Architecture Construction Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program and works with local students to encourage them to pursue a career in the field. Inspired by her mother, who is a math teacher, she leads educational exercises for MEP and sustainable design. In her free time, she stays in shape and enjoys participating in triathlons. Bose loves architectural history and is also an avid traveler; she aspires to visit every continent (except Antarctica), a goal she will accomplish after her trip to Australia this year.
