Second annual sustainability report
The new report provides an update on the divisional sustainability activities over the past year, tracking the Division’s progress making sustainability a part of its organizational mission, and reporting the Division’s emissions inventory
The Building Technologies Division of Siemens Industry, Inc. announced the release of its second annual sustainability report. The 2010 sustainability report builds on the information and momentum created from the Building Technologies Division’s first sustainability report released in 2009.
The new report provides an update on the divisional sustainability activities over the past year, tracking the Division’s progress making sustainability a part of its organizational mission, and reporting the Division’s emissions inventory. The 2010 report also highlights key successes and initiatives during the early stages of the company’s sustainability efforts.
In support of local efforts, a Sustainability Eco Fund Program was established in 2009. The innovative program has enabled many of the company’s branch offices to jump-start local programs and implement a range of sustainability efforts resulting in improved recycling, greater energy efficiency and Energy Star labeling, LEED certification, and energy cost reductions.
When the Building Technologies Division’s Internal Sustainability Committee was formed in 2007, it comprised a cross-functional group of Siemens professionals whose roles and responsibilities were impacted by – and could influence – the company’s sustainability efforts.
