Hurricane Katrina Turns the Light Out on Power Conferences, But There are Plenty of Others to Attend

The devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans cancelled not one but two major electrical industry meeting/trade expos this year: the NECA Expo, which was scheduled for this month, and the IEEE PES Conference and Expo that was to be held in October.

But there are a number of conferences to look forward to this fall, including the following:

The Power Quality Exhibition & Conference will run from Oct. 25 through 27 in Baltimore. The exhibit hall is free to attendees that register in advance. They can try the industry’s newest systems, software and installation and maintenance equipment—including UPS, instrumentation and testing equipment, batteries, grounding devices and equipment, power monitoring equipment, generators and mini- and microturbines. This year’s POWER-GEN International, one of the largest tradeshows for power generation, will be held from Dec. 6 through 8 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, Las Vegas. For information click here .
