Mitsubishi Electric introduces City Multi L-Generation air source outdoor units, a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technology. The L-Generation (6 to 30 tons) uses HexiCoil technology, an aluminum flat tube heat exchanger that maximizes heat transfer capability through its fin shape. This outdoor unit is designed for projects with efficiency goals such as LEED certification or net-zero status. The redesign also includes turbulated tube walls and a cross section. The fin design of the HexiCoil product and its zinc outer coating provide water shedding capability and corrosion resistance. Other L-Generation enhancements include 30% smaller footprint, up to 50% reduction in system refrigerant charge, and cooling operation up to 126 F.
