Building integration is the organized consideration of HVAC, lighting, building envelope and other engineered systems of a facility for the purpose of reducing energy, material and time consumption, as well as other things, in the satisfaction of a detailed performance specification. Smart buildings are sometimes discussed when talking about integrated systems.
