Director of Project Execution, SunPeak; BS, Electrical Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Paap’s technical skills have never been in doubt and he is able to show them off as a professional engineer in six states, a licensed electrician in three and currently the only NABCEP certified photovoltaic design specialist in the state of Wisconsin. He has moved from strength to strength in his career, starting when he was in college and he’s never looked back. After graduating, Paap moved from entry-level designer, to engineer, to senior engineer with his first company. Since joining SunPeak, he has continued that progress and eventually reached a senior management role as the director of project execution. Paap also contributed to technical committees and mentored other engineers along the way, guiding them into future leadership positions and helping create the next wave of great engineers. Paap has excellent presentation and speaking skills and has taken the lead on the technical portion of major client presentations. He has managed large clients and can keep great relations with everyone from owners to senior engineers and all the way to facility personnel. He manages these relations well with his technical competence organizational skills and straightforward manner. Paap, in his downtime, is passionate about the outdoors, whether it’s fishing, hunting or camping and enjoys spending bonding moments doing these activities with his growing family. He is also passionate about giving back to the community. His department has worked with the Tri-County Urban League and the Illinois Central College training program. Through these programs, SunPeak offers employment to those who might be in difficult situations or need a second chance in life.
