Wade has always embraced a philosophy of lifelong learning and continuous improvement, which has led to valuable insights in his role as a consultant and helped with effective communication. To lead projects effectively, he engages with clients both up front and then at multiple points throughout the project so he can understand their goals and desires with an eye on the big picture. Wade regularly challenges those working with him to take on additional responsibilities and dig deeper into the learning available with each project. Dedication and innovation define Wade’s overall approach to project execution. One recent example that showcases his dedication occurred in his design work for the UK chemistry-physics renovation. This project included a complete infrastructure replacement of the main laboratory air handlers and hazardous exhaust system. Due to late budget cuts, the client needed to significantly reduce the infrastructure replacement scope while still meeting project goals and maintaining the schedule. Though this significantly impacted the mechanical design, Wade rose to the challenge and met the client’s initial needs while staying both on budget and on schedule. He has always been on the cutting edge of technology developments and is a staunch advocate of the BIM modeling revolution, helping his firm adopt and then become a leader with the technology. Wade is a committed Christian and has served his local church as a small group leader and in community outreach efforts. He enjoys spending his free time outdoors with his wife and children, especially canoeing, hiking and camping.
