Adams is a senior mechanical engineer and project manager with more than 14 years of experience working in the MEP design and commissioning industryHe began his journey to a career in building design and construction at an early age, working alongside his father and two carpenter uncles renovating his 100-plus-yearold childhood home. Many Saturdays started with a design session in one room of the house and moved quickly into demolition and onto construction. Adams has maintained that dedicated work ethic ever since. He has always been curious and is constantly asking questions on how to make things better. That curiosity, along with his attention to detail, have helped Adams thrive in the challenging world of HVAC controls design and hands-on commissioningHe has worked closely with FDE’s team of field engineers to improve his own engineering skills and judgment. Adams has a wide range of project experience and has worked in many different leadership roles, including commissioning for mega-projects with large commissioning teams and subconsultants. Before joining FDE, he worked for Arup and cowrote an article on estimating potential energy savings for natural ventilation retrofits in California commercial buildings. Adams is a real Renaissance man and spends his off-time on the weekends with his wife and family fishing, hunting and attending St. Louis sports games. Adams has retained his early love of carpentry and still finds great joy working with his hands and spending time bonding with his children.
