Fisher is an engineer who learned very early on that the best solutions are often the simplest. Emphasizing fundamentals has regularly helped him identify root causes to potential problems and develop solutions that work for a client’s specific priorities. Fisher teaches this mantra as an adjunct professor for an introduction to HVAC course at a local university. Beyond that, he has led numerous internal training programs and organized biweekly open-ended question and answer sessions to help junior engineers understand the why of design. He has also mentored individuals one-on-one to make sure they are progressing toward their own career goals. Fisher believes the only way he can be successful is if those around him are successful as well. He actively works to make sure the goals of individuals both above and below him in the corporate hierarchy are being achieved. As a manager, Fisher works just as much on the personal as the professional to ensure his colleagues are successful in all aspects of their careers. This is on top of his day-to-day work managing a multidiscipline MEP group of nine engineers. Outside of the office, Fisher enjoys delivering speeches about engineering. He began by speaking to student ASHRAE branches early in his career and has since spoken at engineering conferences, local engineering society meetings, student groups and facility management groups. He also likes mountain biking and disconnecting from the general hubbub of day-to-day life with his family.
