2021 40 Under 40: Anthony Moore, NICET Level 3, 39

Training Manager, Potter Electric Signal; Associate, Applied Science Network Design and Administration, Southwestern Illinois College

Moore has overcome more than most to be where he is. He grew up poor in central Missouri constantly moving from trailer to trailer with no solid foundation. Soon after high school graduation, he had nowhere to go and found himself sleeping in his car. When he got married and his son arrived, he knew he never wanted his children to face similar hardships. He started night school and eventually graduated with an associate degree, working diligently to excel in his field during that time. One of his goals throughout his career has been not to settle for the status quo. Moore continuously strives to develop his skills, whether that’s obtaining his NICET certifications or recently applying to pursue his bachelor’s degree. Moore not only provides his clients help with products and applications, but he also extends the relationship beyond the bounds of business. Over the years, he has gravitated toward public speaking because he enjoys meeting new people and sharing experiences. That’s also why he loves to teach others through his dedication to the fire alarm industry. One of his latest initiatives has been reaching out to local municipalities, especially smaller jurisdictions that are understaffed or need help regarding code requirements and offering assistance. Moore also volunteers with several organizations in his community and he and his wife are in the process of becoming foster parents. Outside of work, he performs as a DJ at weddings and special events and even announces high school sporting events. His other passions are traveling the world with his family, hunting and sports.
