Lewis attended college on a full athletic scholarship for track and field. While excelling in sports, he also excelled in the electrical engineering program at the university. After college, he joined CMTA Consulting Engineers as a project manager and electrical engineer in 2001. He now leads the electrical engineering department as well as the Energy Star tracking program for the Louisville, Ky., office. Lewis has worked on projects in health care, K-12 and higher education, sports complexes, and other commercial structures. In 2008, he was the project manager for Norton Brownsboro Hospital, which was the first hospital built in Louisville in more than 25 years. It is the only full-service hospital in the state with USGBC LEED certification. It is one of the most energy-efficient hospitals in the U.S., originally receiving an Energy Star rating of 97. CMTA recently completed the design of Major Hospital in Shelbyville, Ind. Lewis was the project manager of this new, 280,000-sq-ft facility. He is an active member of his community. He is on the board of directors for the local YMCA and is co-chair of the youth services committee. In addition to coaching youth basketball, he and his family enjoy gardening, hiking, fishing, waterskiing, and boating.
