Darrell Jacobs, PE, 32 Director of Business Development, En-Comm, Maryland Heights, Mo. BS Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, University of Missouri at Rolla

Jacobs has more than 10 years of experience in facilities engineering and consulting. While attending University of Missouri at Rolla, he helped start an Architectural Engineering Institute student chapter on campus and was its first president. He completed his double major in 2004, graduating summa cum laude in both degrees. After earning his degrees, he joined Professional Service Industries (PSI) in Orlando, Fla. In 2010, Jacobs and his wife made a personal decision to move back to the Midwest, and PSI transferred him to the St. Louis office as district manager. He left PSI in 2012 to join G&W Engineering and soon became the director of business development. He worked with the owners of the company to develop a 5-year business plan. As the firm entered the third year of the plan, Jacobs and the owners formed En-Comm to provide energy, commissioning, and due diligence services to clients. En-Comm is now a subsidiary of G&W Engineering, and the companies work hand-in-hand to evaluate, design, and commission building systems. Jacobs performs technical services as well as oversees the business growth plans and client development for both En-Comm and G&W Engineering. For the past 2 years he has been a member of the board of directors for Good Shepherd School for Children. The local school is a nonprofit organization that works to include children with special needs and help them transition to mainstream classrooms.
