Recent hires and promotions


Alpharetta, Ga.-based Mactec has named James Marianetti, PE , senior principal/project manager at its Atlanta office. In addition, the company appointed Sean P. Thomas, RES , manager of its Alaska office; and Laura J. Noland has been named principal environment scientist/permitting and regulatory specialist; both will work out of the company’s Anchorage, Alaska, office.

Minneapolis-based SmithGroup has promoted Jodie Leppa, CID, IIDA , to office director of its headquarters; it also has named Roslyn zumBrunnen, IIDA , studio leader at the firm’s Minneapolis office.

George Melas has been named senior vice president at New York City-based Syska Hennessy Group Inc. Melas will lead business development, marketing and communications teams for the firm’s U.S. operations, and will be responsible for expanding international opportunities.

Boston-based WB Engineers has named Michael Quigley, PE, LEED AP, principal. Quigley—an eight-year company veteran—had been promoted from project manager to associate principal in December 2007.

Raleigh, N.C.-based Southern Industrial Constructors and Southern Crane has named Daniel P. Erwin corporate safety director and risk manager. Erwin will oversee all aspects of risk management-- performing safety audits, managing workers’ compensation and emergency preparedness issues, maintaining safety records for regulatory agencies, and conducting employee safety training.

North Kingsville, Ohio-based Premix Inc. has named Jeff Cash as corporate director of sales and marketing.
