Video: Test, Adjust & Balance: Lessons Learned for Engineers, Cx & Energy Providers

This session explores how effective testing, adjusting and balancing practices help resolve design and scheduling challenges to ensure HVAC systems perform as intended.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the proper use, application and limitations of TAB instrumentation.
  • Provide an overview of HVAC systems and the TAB process. This includes system setup for proper data collection, schedule challenges, equipment selection and installation considerations.
  • Understand what is accurate, repeatable and meaningful data that is obtained in the field versus laboratory data.
  • Promote a project team approach to address schedule challenges and design.

Challenges related to project design and construction are sometimes encountered during the testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) process. A few examples include equipment selection, system layout for testing and maintenance access, and project scheduling. This presentation offers solutions and ideas to overcome these and other issues, helping to optimize system performance and prove that design intent has been met.
