Variable frequency drive check valve
Metraflex has once again re-engineered a traditional and long ignored hydronic component to improve efficiency and lower operating costs. Testing performed at the Utah Water Research Laboratory at Utah State University prove that the new VFD Check Valve improves the Cv 38% for a 4″ check valve operating at 6 FPS. The redesign reduces cavitation at high velocities and eliminates chatter at low velocities, a common problem in low-flow conditions common with VFD drives. The increase in performance is due to the Hydrodynamically reshaped disk. Same face-to-face dimension of common globe style center guided silent check valves, a drop-in replacement.
