Johnson Controls , Milwaukee, received the U.S. Dept. of Commerce Export Achievement Award. Johnson Controls was honored with the award at the International District Energy Assn.’s Campus Energy Conference held Feb. 13 in Boston. The award recognizes Johnson Controls’ successes in use of the Commerce Department’s exporting services to win district cooling contracts in the Middle East. Johnson Controls recently signed a contract to supply Qatar Cool with 52 water-cooled chiller units. Johnson Controls also signed a contract to supply Burj Dubai, the largest district cooling plant in the Burj Dubai development, with 24 chiller units.

CECO Environmental Corp ., New York City, agreed to acquire Fisher-Klosterman Inc. , Louisville, Ky., in a transaction involving cash and stock.
Niagara Blower Co., Buffalo, N.Y., acquired the assets of Kathabar, Somerset, New Jersey, from Ross Air Systems. The new subsidiary will be called Kathabar Dehumidification Systems Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
WAGO Corp ., Germantown, Wis., completed the expansion of its North American headquarters. The expansion began in August 2007 and increased WAGO’s product manufacturing and storage capacity from 60,000 sq. ft to 75,000 sq. ft.

Emerson Network Power , Columbus, Ohio, announced that it acquired 100% of Aperature’s shared capital. Financial terms were not disclosed. The addition of Aperture to Emerson Network Power’s portfolio will complement and enhance the manufacturer’s Liebert products.
