Building Commissioning Association announces NCBC keynote presentation

The Building Commissioning Association (BCA) has announced its keynote presenter for the 2015 National Conference on Building Commissioning.

The Building Commissioning Association has announced that David Allen, principal and executive vice president of McKinstry, will be the keynote speaker at the 2015 annual National Conference on Building Commissioning in St. Louis. Allen’s presentation, "Buildings, Commissioning, and a Perspective on our Changing Market," draws on deep experience and awareness of what’s happening in the building industry, the practice of commissioning, and what the future holds for the commissioning profession.

Today, more than ever, building commissioning is faced with innumerable pressures to do more with less, remove waste from construction and operations, regulate and standardize delivery processes, and train and certify those that practice commissioning. By reflecting on the current state of the built environment and sharing his thoughts on the future, Allen will share his vision of what the future has in store for commissioning professionals.

Allen is an active advocate for energy efficiency through the elimination of waste in the built environment. He serves on the boards of several industry associations, trade groups, and business alliances including executive member of the Washington Clean Technology Alliance and Economic Development Council of Seattle, chair of the Green Design/Building Skills panel for the Workforce Development Council of King County, and he is also on the Board of Trustees for the Rocky Mountain Institute.

NCBC will be held in St. Louis, May 18-20, 2015. This year’s theme is "Gateway to the Future of Commissioning." Since 1993, NCBC has offered the premier annual event for leaders and newcomers across the building community to join together to learn and report on industry trends, cutting-edge applications, and quality education.
