Tools, reports, and events for improving energy efficiency in data centers
New data center resource provides visitors with tools designed to improve energy efficiency in data centers.
EPA assessment report
During The Green Grid and NYSE Euronext Industry Event held on October 2nd, The Green Grid presented the results of a recently-completed assessment of a mid-tier data center operated by the EPA, along with recommendations for next steps that EPA can follow to improve efficiency. Recommendations made in the report cover a wide range of specific and programmatic opportunities for mid-tier data centers across the US.
New PUE reporting tool
The Green Grid has introduced a new free online tool for data center managers to record their Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) scores that will establish global consistency in reporting the split between energy flowing to IT equipment and facility operations. Find out how to report your PUE to The Green Grid and better understand the different classes of reporting and the benefit to the reporting organization.
New regional tools for free cooling
The Green Grid’s free cooling tool is now available for the North American , European , and Japanese regions. This tool helps data center and facilities managers determine how much free cooling is available for a data center, which can lower energy consumption and related costs. The tool also provides information about water-side economizers. The public can access low-resolution graphical maps of fresh air and water-side free cooling in North America, Europe, and Japan.
The Green Grid EMEA technical forums
The Green Grid is excited to host a series of European conferences during October. This is a great opportunity to learn about The Green Grid’s collaborative initiatives in metrics, tools, and training to improve data center efficiency. The morning sessions of each conference will be open to the public, followed by a luncheon to give you a chance to network with members of The Green Grid and other industry stakeholders. Additional event and details can be found on the Events page .
