While the emphasis at AHR Expo is traditionally on heat pumps, cooling and ventilation, it’s just as important the electrical connections to these products are secure. However, equally as important to these different products is making sure the electrical connections are secure.

At AHR Expo at McCormick Place in Chicago, Weidmuller displayed their SNAP IN technology. This technology helps ensure the connection is secure when an electrical technician is plugging devices and wires into a harness. The SNAP IN technology provides an audible click when a wire is locked into place.

“Customers can now connect their devices more efficiently because the…blocks are fast, flexible and reliable,” said John Frouslet, director of the device and field connectivity division of America.

Their newest addition to their PCB portfolio is OMNIMATE 4.0 terminal block, which has easy-to-push buttons, comes wire-ready and offers a wide range of connectivity with screw-in, push-in and snap-in connections.

This provides two benefits for engineers:

  • Efficiency: Because this is SNAP IN technology, there’s no need to fiddle with screws and threading a wire through a small gap.

  • Teachability: New workers to the industry can have an easier time not only working with connections but finding them. Having a simple connectivity solution presents an opportunity to reduce the skills gap within this career.

Ventilation, efficiency and proper decarbonization solutions are important. However, none of that is possible without a strong electrical connection for the terminal block and on control boards.
