A new iPhone application featuring the current edition of NFPA 1600, Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs , is available through the phone’s App Store or on iTunes.

The application will allow users to search through the standard, which discusses rules for emergency management, preparedness, fire response, and recovery. NFPA 1600 also is a valuable tool for understanding public safety practices and business continuity programs.

"Disasters and emergencies know no boundaries. With the help of the latest technology, we are able to use another communication channel to put tools and resources directly into the hands of people who count on them," said Kim Fontes, a division manager with NFPA’s Product Development and Production. "The addition of the iPhone application for NFPA 1600 will provide greater access to this important document."
