Individuals Recognized for Service to the On-Site Power Industry
Several members of the Electrical Generating Systems Assn. (EGSA) were singled out at the recent EGSA Spring Convention in Sarasota, Fla., and recognized for outstanding contributions to EGSA and the entire on-site
power industry.
Dale Slemp, 2006 EGSA president, presented Michael Pope of Süd-Chemie with the William Timmler Award. The William Timmler Award is given annually to an individual EGSA member for outstanding work in chairing a committee. Pope was
recognized for his stewardship of the association’s education committee, which recently launched the association’s Generator Technician Certification Program and oversees EGSA’s On-Site Power Schools.
Steve Stoyanac of Silex Innovations, Inc. was awarded the Leroy H. Carpenter Award. The award is given to an individual EGSA member for long and outstanding service to the association. Stoyanac was recognized for his decade of involvement in the association. In addition to his committee service, he also has served as a director and has held every EGSA office, culminating in his election as EGSA President in 2004.
Dennis Roundtree, On-Site Power Inc., was presented with the James Wright Educator Award. The award was given to Roundtree in recognition of his services as a leading instructor for the association’s On-Site Power Schools. He also has served as vice chairman of the education committee and is a member of the school revision committee.
Finally, Slemp presented 2005 EGSA President Ray Kacvinsky with a plaque and portrait in recognition of “his dedication and service to the Association,” said Slemp. During Kacvinsky’s term as president, the association expanded its educational offerings by launching a continuing education unit (CEU) program to complement the association’s On-Site Power Schools, and finalizing plans to introduce the industry’s first Generator Technician Certification Program.
