Ribeiro has taken part in the design or analysis of more than 150 structures in 20 countries. His most relevant activity encompasses steel and composite design and detailing, high-rise buildings design, seismic analyses, large spans design (he was part of the team awarded with the European Steel Design Award 2011), vibration control and dynamic analysis, as well as design for operations, such as scaffolding systems, launching gantries and erection planning. Ribeiro also has an interest in fire protection, having earned a Master of Science in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on passive smoke control systems. Client satisfaction is the key to his 14-year career in a consulting engineering office. Ribeiro’s role as managing partner demands prime leadership skills, which matured during his previous roles as a senior engineer, consulting engineer. In addition to his structural engineer position, Ribeiro has written a book, produced engineering software, lectured for various university courses, has been involved in international research programs, advised and examined master theses, takes part in the sub-commission 8 (Eurocode 8) of CT115 and has been a member of the south region disciplinary board of the Portuguese Institution of Engineers. He has written countless journal articles, conference papers and technical reports. Ribeiro’s innovation in predictive maintenance was awarded an honorable mention in 2019 with the Portuguese Institution of Engineers’ Young Engineer Innovation Award. He recently welcomed his newborn daughter to the family. During his personal time, he runs 10K and half-marathon races, travels and reads.
