Will performs building envelope evaluations and investigations of distressed and deteriorated conditions in existing buildings. She has performed many evaluations of historic masonry façades and prepared repair documents, and has provided construction period observations and project management for many masonry-clad buildings. Will’s expertise includes documentation and investigation of building façades with a focus on brick, terra cotta and stone masonry as well as preservation and repair of historic buildings. She has written and co-written multiple articles/papers and given numerous presentations related to preservation engineering, masonry and façade restoration. Not only is she excited by the opportunity to take part in the story of these historic buildings, but she is also extremely committed to mentoring and sharing her knowledge with others through her many mentoring efforts at WJE and throughout the industry. She volunteers with The Masonry Society, the Association for Preservation Technology locally and nationally, the Village of Oak Park Historic Preservation Commission, Construction History of America, Landmarks Illinois and the International Masonry Institute on a host of projects that help to promote preservation of the built environment as well as teaching in the graduate programs for historic preservation. She lives with her husband, 9-year-old son, 7-year-old son and 3-year-old twin daughters. In her free time, she enjoys watching youth baseball games, running, traveling with her family, spending time with extended family, cooking and watching baseball and football.
