By Amara Rozgus, Chris Vavra, and Christina Miller May 16, 2022

Dee-Ramasamy is focused on the decarbonization of large, complex buildings, with extensive experience in energy- and carbon-reduction master planning, strategic electrification and decarbonization consulting, industry research, new- and existing-building commissioning, engineering surveys and studies and special inspections. Beginning her career at JB&B with the commissioning department in 2014, she worked on high-profile projects such as 30 and 35 Hudson Yards, the New York Stem Cell Foundation Research Institute, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Brooklyn Museum. Within four years she became an associate at the firm and, within seven, a director. With experience across a wide range of market sectors, including commercial, educational, life science, health care, museum, hospitality and multifamily residential buildings, Dee-Ramasamy was selected by JB&B’s partnership to pivot from commissioning to energy in 2019. Specifically, she was asked to develop and grow a service group dedicated to building sector decarbonization. Within three years, the group has evolved into its own brand, the Deep Carbon Reduction Group, fostered by her expertise and insight into the technical challenges of electrifying these various buildings. Through business development and outreach efforts with others in the firm, she has brought in more than 60 energy-reduction/decarbonization projects across new- and existing-building sectors. She has been selected to serve on six industry stakeholder panels/committees that will support decarbonization efforts. She and her husband recently bought a 120-year-old house in New Jersey, where they often spend weekends on various home improvement projects and perfecting the art of making craft hard cider.
