He has worked on the design and construction services of power systems, including multiple health care, bus maintenance facilities, rail vehicle maintenance facilities, transportation projects and industrial electrical distribution and associated renewables. While pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, Donaldson worked for CDM Smith as an intern before becoming a full-time employee. In addition to spearheading the development and evaluation of renewable energy (solar) projects, he serves as the lead electrical engineer on multiple energy efficiency projects that include the incorporation of high-efficiency lighting solutions, lighting control solutions, motor control solutions and updated electrical distribution systems. Donaldson’s love for hockey made him decide to get involved with his local community and teach young children how to skate and play hockey. He also loves spending time and traveling with his wife and boys. He and his wife purchased a fixer-upper when they first got married and he enjoys spending free weekends completing house projects.
