As an electrical engineer and a project manager, managing client relations is a particularly important part of Karki’s responsibilities. In this NFS role, he contributes by retaining clients and assists the sales and marketing team by educating future clients about NFS capabilities. He is dedicated to his craft and to contributes to the growth and development of the company, especially in engineering, by continuing to keep up with the evolution of technology and standards in modern power systems. He performs short circuit, coordination, arc flash studies and relay upgrades. In addition, he performs engineering studies such as load flow, motor starting and NERC PRC compliance. Karki believes in working harder and smarter, taking initiative, being diligent and leading by example. He is the first person that all field technicians call if they have any technical questions. He has been a member of IEEE since the start of his student career and is now part of the IEEE Power & Energy Society. One of his goals is to be involved in editing the standards for IEEE. Karki has always believed in giving back to his neighborhood and community. He is a part of a mentorship program with SMU and Hillcrest High School, where he shares insights about the industry and answers any professional questions they have. His generous attitude was born in Nepal and continues today both at work and in his charitable giving. Aside from work, he gains his inspiration from his family, which includes his wife and two daughters.
