Chiu is an exceptional relationship manager and is proud to help clients translate their business objectives into successfully delivered projects. He is highly interactive with clients and stakeholders, establishes effective lines of communication with them and includes them in every aspect of product design. Chiu is inspired by the communities he lives in and is an active committee member in the building engineering industry, a mentor in his company and a volunteer in his local community. As a professional engineer, he is aware of the impact engineering has on the world, so he always keeps safety, sustainability and resiliency in mind to improve the community and make lives better. Chiu has a keen interest in providing healthier, more productive places and reducing stress on the environment. He uses his skills in the design of new buildings and in building renovations to conserve energy, use fewer natural resources and minimize environmental impact. With the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Chiu has worked closely with various commercial and health care clients, finding innovative solutions to help them use technology for mask detection, social distancing compliance and contact-tracing management. With the strong influence of his father, who is also a consulting engineer, Chiu has pursued his dream career in building consulting engineering since third grade when he got the opportunity to visit the main electrical substation room of a brand-new high-rise health care facility construction site. Outside of the office, Chiu makes time for his family, music and gardening. He enjoys helping his two children explore their interests in 3D printing, Japanese hip-hop and cooking Chinese dim sum.
