Principal Engineer/VP of Business Development, ETC Group; MBA, University of Utah
Jackson is the ultimate environment and energy “doer” whose tenacity, sincerity and mission for sustainability produce exciting results for his company and energy savings for his clients. He constantly inspires those around him to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental footprints. He joined the energy efficiency engineering field right out of college and now leads ETC Group’s business development and marketing teams. His career path has been about rising to the occasion when a challenge comes along. Standing 7 feet tall, Jackson might appear intimidating at first, but it soon becomes clear just how personable, honest and supportive he is. His blueprints for leadership, teamwork and work ethic were formed during his years playing basketball for the University of Utah. Jackson has always been passionate about sustainability, energy efficiency and renewable energy and has been directly involved with a single client whose projects have cut more than $10 million a year in energy costs — equivalent to planting more than 1.4 million trees or taking about 19,000 cars off the road. He is a member of various engineering societies and actively participates in local chapter organization meetings. He also participates in advocacy groups, such as the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project and charity events, such as the annual Help Fill the Toy Closet fundraiser golf event in Arizona. Before the pandemic, it was not uncommon for Jackson to attend Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks or Arizona Cardinals games (especially if Utah was in town). He also enjoys traveling, festivals and concerts (which are much more fun when you are one of the tallest people in the crowd).
