This session examines the challenges of commissioning an active airport terminal expansion, with a focus on scheduling and testing complex systems.
Learning objectives
- Understand the impact of active airport security on testing schedules and processes.
- Understand the process for testing baggage handling systems.
- Understand the impact of Cx task scheduling for an active airport.
- Understand functional performance testing of unique systems for airports.
Commissioning expansion projects can be difficult due to working around the operations of an existing facility. This is especially the case when the facility is an active airport and the project is a 190,000-square-foot expansion of an existing terminal. This session will discuss the scheduling issues for testing certain systems such as emergency power, baggage handling and air handling units.
