This session reviews commissioning lessons from a semiconductor plant delivered using owner-furnished equipment and integrated project delivery.
Learning objectives
- Understand how to effectively source and engage Quality and Cx teams in integrated project delivery.
- Understand the Quality and Cx goals in an owner-furnished equipment (owner-furnished, contractor-installed) delivery model.
- Understand the challenges of integrated project delivery.
- Apply lessons learned in future integrated projects.
This presentation focuses on a project at a chip manufacturing plant outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Members of the project team discuss the quality and Cx process for this fast-track, multi-phase U.S. Department of Energy-funded greenfield site that used the integrated project delivery (IPD) approach and owner-furnished equipment. The speakers highlight challenges that occur when teams are brought in late to the IPD, as well as in-flight modifications to the plan.
