Challenges

Our firm is grappled with several key challenges. Firstly, the project site is confined, presenting logistical constraints that demand meticulous planning. Moreover, the existing emergency department (ED) must be preserved throughout construction, adding a layer of complexity to the process. Additionally, establishing seamless connections to the operating rooms and imaging facilities within the current hospital infrastructure is imperative. Addressing these issues requires a strategic approach that prioritizes efficiency, adaptability, and seamless integration to ensure the success of this project.

Solutions
Our approach involves collaborating closely with BIDMC, the architect, Payette, and the OM, Turner Construction, to strategize phased construction and facilitate enabling project completion. Collaboration was key in solving our unique challenges.
