The Battle of Little Bighorn
Custer's last battle proved to be a power-problem.
The Battle of Little Bighorn was a battle between Native American Indians and the 7th Cavalry of the United States Army lead by Lt. Col. George Custer. It happened on June 25-June 26, 1876.
This battle was the most famous battle in the Indian Wars and was a huge victory for the Indians. 16 officers and 242 troopers of the 7th Cavalry were killed or died. Every soldier in Custer’s unit was killed.
Today the site of the battle is a national monument. Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument preserves the site of the June 25, 1876 battle. It is a memorial to those who fought in the battle – both the 7th Cavalry and the Native American Indians.
