The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) recently named Stanley Consultants the winner of the Seymour S. Greenfield Sustaining Member Award at the 2011 SAME Joint Engineering Training Conference (JETC) in Grapevine, Texas.

Stanley Consultants provides program management, planning, engineering, environmental and construction services worldwide. The Society of American Military Engineers is the premier professional military engineering association in the United States.

“Over the years we have developed a rock solid kinship with SAME, working side-by-side to help meet the mission of SAME, which is to promote and facilitate engineering support for national security by developing and enhancing relationships and competencies among uniformed services, public- and private-sector engineers and related professionals, and by developing future engineers through outreach and mentoring,” said Gayle Roberts, president of Stanley Consultants. “It means a great deal to us to be honored for helping to make the world a safer place.”

A sustaining member of SAME for over 35 years, Stanley Consultants began its association with the organization by helping to charter the Washington, D.C. post. The firm is now active in over 45 posts domestically and internationally, with over 200 staff members enrolled in SAME membership. Stanley Consultants supports the mission of SAME through exhibits, advertising, serving on post committees and supporting SAME’s regional conferences, post meetings, scholarship activities, and mentoring activities. Currently, Stanley Consultants’ members represent top roles as the chair of the young member’s council and as a member of the senior executive group (SEG). In addition, Stanley Consultants has participated in and sponsored several small business outreach events across the nation.

The Seymour S. Greenfield Sustaining Member Award was first awarded in 2010. Sustaining Member awards are presented annually to one company each in the small, medium, and large size categories. The winning firm must have made notable contribution to SAME throughout the year by: Appointing individuals to sustaining member representative positions for each Post affiliation; taking leadership positions at the Post, Region and National level; supporting Young Member participation in SAME activities and mentoring programs; supporting educational and community service activities; and exhibiting and sponsoring activities/events at national and regional conferences.

This award will join Stanley Consultants’ 2004 J.W. Morris Sustaining Member Firm of the Year award. First presented in 1981, the award is given in honor of Lt. Gen. John W. Morris, U.S. Army, for eminent contributions to SAME by a Sustaining Member firm.
