Watts has launched a new Salt Level Sensor designed to improve performance and reduce maintenance in commercial water softening systems. Now included with all Watts commercial water softener systems with mineral tanks 24 inches or larger, the sensor continuously monitors salt levels inside the brine tank and automatically alerts users when replenishment is needed. This helps maintain consistent system operation, reduce manual checks, and support more effective water treatment. The sensor uses infrared time-of-flight technology to accurately measure salt levels, with readings synchronized to system operation to minimize inaccurate alerts. Customizable notification settings allow users to define refill thresholds based on application needs. The Salt Level Sensor also integrates with the Nexa intelligent water management platform for remote visibility and supports Modbus communication for compatibility with building management systems. This sensor helps facilities reduce maintenance demands while maintaining reliable softener performance by automating salt level monitoring and improving system visibility.
