Their Mission: “At P.S. 41, we nurture and serve every child to be productive citizens while reaching their highest potential.” The Problem The original windows in the building needed to be replaced. When the authority realized that backup for the proposed face brick was Speed Tile, there was concern about an effective anchor that was still sympathetic to the fragility of the Speed Tile Units. Cintec was originally specified by Sen Architects as the anchoring system for the replacement windows. Sen architects had specified Cintec in the past for similar school projects. However, a resin anchor was considered, tested, and failed. A resin anchor does not perform well in speed tile / hollow terra-cotta. Cintec Anchors [fire rating exceeds ATME 119] were tested, and consequently, used to complete the project. A total of 1000 anchors were used.
