Lake Tahoe Unified School District will emphasize a green component with a proposed Green Academy project.
California’s Tahoe Daily Tribune reported last week that Lake Tahoe Unified School District plans to emphasize a “green component with the proposed South Tahoe High School Green Academy project.” According to the Tribune, “The academy would focus on teaching students trades in green construction, auto mechanics, and technology.” Included in the academy proposal is a “new three-story building, an area for construction workshops, and covered parking for four vehicles.” The estimated cost for the project is “$12 million, with $6 million coming from matching-fund grants.
